Compare School Lunches To Other Countries

As we all know, most of school lunches in America is fast food, like hamburgers, french fries, chicken and steaks. Many kids depend on school to provide nutritious food for them, but actually they can't get enough nutrition they need from these junk food. Oppositely, the school lunches provided by other countries are better for kids' diet. The following pictures show that people in Asia always eat rice, meats, fishes, vegetables and soups as lunch. Compare  with  the food in America, these school lunches contain more proteins and vitamins instead of oil and fattiness. It is obvious that kids will become more healthy if they refuse fast food and start eating the food with more grains.
Japanese                                                            Chinese                                                     Korean

"The new federal requirements stateside, the first major nutritional school meal overhaul in over 15 years, offer less sodium and trans fats, more whole grains and a broader selection of fruits and vegetables to the 32 million students who take part in the National School Lunch and Breakfast programs. The rules also place a calorie cap on lunches: 650 calories for elementary school lunches, 700 for middle schools and 850 for high schools."American appeal to change the school lunches,to make it more nutritional. Asian food is much better for kids to eat. Like fruits, vegetables, grains are supposed to replace the current food in America. That will be benefit for kids' diet, they can get more energy in lunch time.

  1. School lunches in other countries look so much more nutritious than the lunches in America, the government should try to do that!

  2. It's prefect to present different kinds of school lunch from different countries. This post let us know more about that Japanese school lunch is the easiest and the American school lunch is a kind of unhealthy. Maybe students from American school should choose another healthy food instead of school lunch.

  4. This topic is really intresting because I remember when I was in high schhool and elemantary, lunch or breackfast wasnt anything like the ones above; japanese chinese or korean food. It is really good that in other countries they are giving vegtables and healthy food than in here in L.A they give junk food such as pizza and a simple bread with milk.

  5. I'm guessing that the school lunches of other countries pertain to private school in that nation where parents pay a monthly or weekly fee for their child's lunch contra-ire to America where in public schools lunch tends to be free or at a reduced price therefore giving kids lower food quality to as if they were to pay for a better quality lunch.

  6. I love the pictures very much. It shows us different cultures' food. And compared with these food with fast food in America. I think America needs to pay more attention to children's food. Make it more nutritious.

  7. This post is really interesting and informative! It is really important for US schools to try to change the way they feed kids at school because it can have negative effects on their bodies. These types of food as a school lunch can be so harmful. It can cause malnutrition and stunts the kids growth. I hope America can find a way to enhance the quality of school lunches.

  8. I always thought that the United States would be more careful on what they serve the students at school. Seeing the lunches from other countries just shows how much unhealthy foods students are consuming. I would usually not like to eat at school and have rather eat at home. I completely agree with you that schools should give students healthier lunches. If students were given healthier foods they would have actually want more energy to stay awake during class. Overall I like your post because it Is very informing.

  10. When comparing to other countries we should really pay attention to the conditions within each place. Students here in the United States are actually very fortunate to live in a place where (whether healthy food or not) they are at least getting something. other students like in Central America are lucky to even have a school and luckier if they can go instead of having to work in the fields to be able to have at least one meal in order to survive.
